POP

Looking for that “secret sauce” or that “special advantage” when you’re looking to invest?
I’d be lying if I had not thought about it myself.
And why not, it’s been a bit of a rough go for many over the past several quarters.
If only I could come up with an effective formula...
How about just a little POP?

In this case, POP is an acronym for Perspective, Objective, and People.

Entering my 36th year of being an investment professional, I’ve found that the aforementioned outline provides a very good road map to investing and investment success.

PERSPECTIVE

Where am I at in the process and what is my timeline?
Accumulation, Acceleration, Conservation, Distribution?
Where are you? Have you Coordinated/Correlated your holdings to one another?
Do they mitigate or exacerbate the risk of the overall portfolio?
How much time will you need to get where you are going? Are YOU already there?
How sustainable is your mix?

OBJECTIVE

Less esoteric. Do you need Appreciation? Cash flow? or Tax Savings? All of them?
What is your dominant requirement today and when might that shift?
What asset classes are you working with, and what are your liquidity requirements?
Do your investments help or hinder your overall “time plan”?
How much work does it require?
Do you have additional constraints?

PEOPLE

Are you a DIY person or do you require help?
Just because your Dad/Mom/Uncle/Aunt/Best Friend/Neighbor works with the individual or group doesn’t mean you should.
What is their perspective? Fiduciary? Analytical or Practitioner? Do they “get” you?

Every investor, young or old, needs to regularly
✅Step back,
✅Look,
✅Consider, and
📌Make sure your POP is still POPPING💥.
